Q. What models are not suitable for use on a variable frequency drive (VFD)?
A. DO NOT use the following models on a VFD:
- Single phase motors.
- Motors with built-in automatic reset or manual reset overload devices.
- UL Listed Fire Pump motors.
- Motors labeled for 1.0 Service factor on line power.
- Multi-speed motors.
- Explosion Proof motors that do not have the VFD speed range (such as 10:1, 20:1, 2:1) and torque profile (VT or CT) stamped on the nameplate.
- Division 2 motors not labeled for VFD use.
